Upon arrival at the airport in Colombo, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel for the first night – a hotel or guesthouse in Negombo. Depending on your mood, mood and time of arrival, you can either relax in the hotel from the exertions of the flight, explore the lively holiday resort on your own or explore the Negombo Lagoon on a boat trip (optional, 20 euros per person).
Sri Lanka’s tropical climate has an average temperature of 28°C, which is why the country is easy to travel all year round. The hottest months are March and April. However, comparatively cooler temperatures can be expected in the mountain regions. It should also be noted that Sri Lanka is influenced by two opposing monsoons, which means that there are regional differences. However, since many of the highlights of this trip are in the south and west, the time from November to April is best. However, the southwest monsoon is mostly over in July and August, which is why the weather on the (south)west coast is often quite pleasant.
Of course, it is up to you whether you want to take part in the jeep safari or the night hike or not. Only the transfers have to be taken into account so that you can move into your booked accommodation. Please understand that individual partial services that are not performed cannot be reimbursed.
The currency of Sri Lanka is the Sri Lanka Rupee (RS). In many places people still pay with cash. The best thing to do is to withdraw some money in the local currency when you arrive at the airport. In larger cities and hotels you can often pay with a debit or credit card. It’s best to find out from your bank before your trip what the conditions for cash withdrawals and card payments abroad are.
